Preschool Helper and After School Care Provider

Sunrise Waldorf School is currently accepting applications for a caregiver for Preschool and After School Care for the 23/24 school year. 

 

Established in 1980, the beautiful seven-acre Sunrise campus is in the Cowichan Valley, near Duncan BC.  Sunrise is a full AWSNA member school and a Group One independent school under the BC Ministry of Education and Child Care with a mission to educate and inspire students to reach their full potential through a rich and artistic Waldorf curriculum.    

 

The ideal candidate will have significant leadership experience with children under ten years of age.  Sunrise is seeking a caring, kind and dynamic individual with strong communication and organizational skills around planning, tracking attendance and communicating with families, etc. The successful candidate must have the ability to support students with a range of abilities and ages while maintaining composure and self-awareness under pressure. Ideally, the candidate will have some knowledge of and experience with Waldorf education and be able to bring activities rooted in storytelling, movement, arts and/or music to the children.  Training in education or child care would be an asset, and completion of First Aid.

Working schedule: 11:00AM to 5:00PM, Monday to Friday when school is in session.  There are 171 school days in the 2023-2024 school year.  Starting the week of August 30th 2023

Pay: $25.73/hour
