Anthroposophical Cafe This Friday, December 8th at 5:30pm PST, we will be speaking with Adam Blanning MD. Join the conversation, below. ‘How Can we Care for the Soul in Anxious Times?’ We are living in a time of so many changes and challenges that it is easy to become anxious, negative, withdrawn or frustrated. Dr. Blanning has been working to develop a fourfold approach to anxiety and burnout for physicians, as well as working regularly with teachers, children, patients and families around strategies for better balance and well-being. This presentation will focus more on ways we can work, as adults, with our rhythm, sensory patterns and meditative life. There is great goodness in the world, but we have to claim it be more actively forming our lives, qualities of the consciousness soul. |

Basketball Update Grades 8 students are in the Central Vancouver Island Midget basketball league. They played their first basketball game of the season on Tuesday against Quamichan Secondary. The Quamichan team sunk the first few hoops and showed great strength in both offence and defense. The Sunrise team, however, played hard and once they sunk their first hoop, were able to get the ball in the basket more regularly. While they were not able to catch up with the Quamichan score, they demonstrated grit and determination and increasing teamwork. The score at the buzzer was Quamichan 46, Sunrise 31. Our top scorer was George, who sank 6 baskets, and our top rebound receiver was Finnian. Each of the other players played a part in setting up the team opportunities and slowing down the Quamichan team. Next week’s basketball game is against and at Francis Kelsey Secondary on Tuesday 12 Dec. The team will arrive no later than 3:30pm with tip off at 3:45. The game is expected to finish at 4:45. Students and parents are welcomed to come cheer their school grade 8 team on. Coach Georgia |

Parent Enrichment presents a workshop with Diana Harold The Four Temperaments - A Guide to a Peaceful Family Life The idea of the Four Temperaments come from the Ancient Greeks. Steiner expanded on that idea and Waldorf educators use these ideas to help them understand children and meet their needs. Knowing about your and your families temperaments can help so much when trying to find ways to keep you family healthy and happy. Diana Harold was a parent at Waldorf for many years while her child attended. She took special interest in the Four temperaments and is happy to share what she learned. Diana also has a business here in the Cowichan Valley called Rest Move Grow. This is going to be a fun and interesting workshop. Please RSVP at hazelmouse@gmail.com.
